Single-family homes with off-street parking.
A 7 kW single-phase wallbox covers most overnight charging. Where the supply is limited, load balancing protects the main fuse; where a fixed installation is impossible, a Mode 2 portable unit plugged into an existing socket is the practical answer.
Blocks and shared garages with one supply.
The constraint is rarely the charger, it is the building supply. Wireless dynamic load balancing shares the available current between several charge points without new wiring, which is often the difference between a workable installation and none.
Vans, taxis and service fleets.
Vehicles that return to a known place overnight suit wallboxes; vehicles that must turn around in under an hour suit DC. Most depots end up with both, and scheduling matters more than peak power.
Hotels, car parks, retail and workplaces.
AC is enough for visitors who stay for hours. Where the site wants to attract drivers who are passing through, 60–120 kW DC with billing through your own backend is the usual configuration.
Corridors and public sites.
Dual-gun cabinets from 120 kW to 240 kW, and split systems that pool power between guns so two vehicles charging together do not each get half the rated output. Above 400 kW, liquid-cooled cables keep the connector within temperature limits.
OEMs assembling their own cabinets.
20 kW and 30 kW isolated modules above 96% efficiency, plus connectors and cables. Useful where you want a stable power stage supply while keeping your own enclosure and control design.
